Roy Maines

Roy Maines has over 35 years of experience in information technology, with a concentration on Agile development frameworks and techniques. Roy’s passion is in helping others on their Agile journey and continuing to push the envelope of learning and understanding.

Roy is a US Navy Veteran and hold his BS from Chapman University in Computer Information Systems with additional graduate level studies in Computer Science at the College of Charleston. His broad understanding of the technical foundations combined with years of practical experience has prepared him to help teams navigate the most difficult enterprise level challenges.


Roy has successfully transitioned several development teams from legacy practices to high performing Agile teams using a variety of frameworks including, SAFe, Scrum and Kanban. Roy is an experienced coach at the SAFe team and program levels, providing guidance on Feature/Story writing, sizing and estimation, navigating conflict and facilitating agile ceremonies.


Roy founded the Charleston Agile User group and serves on the Editorial Board for Agile Record Magazine. Roy also serves on the career advisory board for ECPI and Miller-Motte Technical Colleges.
